Course Information

Conceptual models of practice, frames of reference and theories that guide occupational therapy practice are introduced and applied at a foundational level in this course. The philosophy and process of occupational therapy are examined with a focus on critical thinking and clinical reasoning for the documentation of occupational therapy services. The roles of the occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistant during the occupational therapy process are explored. Integrated lab experiences focus on the occupational therapy process and professional documentation methods for observation, intervention and outcomes are introduced.
