Course Information

This course is designed to acquaint the student with the necessary professional skills required of an entry-level administrator. The course will provide students with a reasoned understanding of major historical, philosophical, ethical, social and economic influences affecting education in a democratic society. Students will be engaged in application of administrative theories and practices to real life situations. The course will also focus on the responsibility of a school principal to ethically facilitate the education of early childhood, middle childhood, adolescent and/or multi-age pupils, a diverse student population and students with special needs. Students will explore ways to link acquired school district information to improving the school's Continuous Improvement Plan. An understanding of state and federal mandates as they are adopted will be developed.
