Course Information

This course will teach the fundamental principles and elements of structured literacy instruction. The complexities of the English language, as well as how to teach it in a systematic, explicit, and cumulative manner to support positive literacy outcomes will be a focus. Formal and informal assessment and instruction in phonology, morphology, syllabication, semantics, and syntax will be addressed. Current research will be applied to designing and practicing evidence-based assessment, instruction, and intervention. This course covers all relevant state and federal mandates.
