Course Information
Students learn the major concepts, history, principles, theory and research related to the nature and role of culturally responsive practices to construct supportive learning environments for all students. Preservice teachers will design standards-based culturally responsive instruction that incorporates students' cultural values and beliefs, enhances the connection between home and school culture and language and provides opportunities for students and families to share and apply their cultural perspectives to learning objectives.
